Harvest Monday, 8/28/18

All three of these are different varieties of zucchini I picked a few days ago. I try to remember to pick zucchini while I'm out clearing the garden and seeding things that will be harvested in fall and early winter, but a few were definitely left a little too long.

Please join us for Harvest Monday hosted by Dave at Happy Acres. A place where garden and vegetable enthusiasts congregate to share the goings on in their gardens.

I thought that the one on the left was a pumpkin!

Hi Sue,
It's actually as large as any pumpkin I've grown. I'm curious whether there will be any usable flesh in there.

I'm with Sue - it does look like a pumpkin! My plants were gone a long time ago. I'm trying a couple of summer squash plants for a fall crop but only time will tell if they do anything.

Hi Dave,
I would think they'll be able to produce in time for you, some summer squashes are quick as lightning. Especially, when there's less pressure from insects.

Our squash plants are on their last legs, there's squash bugs about and signs of mildew. I'll probably pull in them in a couple days.
